SpaceLogic C-Bus 8-Channel Digital Dimmer With C-Bus Power Supply (2023 Model) 5508D1D

The new 2023 C-Bus Dimmers have been specifically designed to work with LED lights, and incorporate many other major improvements. You can view the datasheet here and we've put together a list of changes as an overview:

1. Tailor-Made Dimming Profiles: Customize dimmer channel load profiles and dimming curves uniquely for each channel with the help of your C-Bus systems integrator. This allows for smoother and more linear dimming control, catering to specialized dimming needs and user preferences.

2. Comprehensive Channel Information: Access advanced diagnostic and status information for each channel, including operating time, compatibility with the selected dimming mode, online/offline status, temperature data, over current detection, and measured mains frequency per channel.

3. Enhanced Protection Features: Benefit from built-in protection mechanisms, such as over-temperature dimming adjustments, thermal shutdown, over-current and short-circuit detection, and channel shutdown, to improve product durability and diagnostics.

4. Independent Dimming Control: Select Trailing Edge or Leading Edge dimming operation independently for each channel to suit your specific requirements.

5. Load Behavior Monitoring: In Leading Edge dimming mode, monitor load behavior for issues like excessive current phase lag, channel crossing jitter compared to mains supply zero crossing, and inductive load spikes.

6. Phase-Independent Dimming: The 8-channel 5508D1D allows for two phase-independent dimming banks of 4 channels each. These can be connected to different phases and mains connections, which may require some additional local wiring by your electrician for older C-Bus DIN-mounted dimmer upgrades.

7. Expandable Applications: Program up to 4 "C-Bus Applications" for use with the new dimmer, offering flexibility in automation and control.

8. Convenient Power Options: Utilize the USB-C connection for device power, enabling temporary programming via a C-Bus connection without needing an energized mains AC connection to the dimmer.

9. System Clock Control: The dimmer features an inbuilt C-Bus system clock generator that can be turned on/off from both the front panel of the dimmer and C-Bus commissioning software.

10. Versatile Voltage Compatibility: Suitable for installations with either 110VAC or 240VAC, providing flexibility in power supply options.
