Shipping

All orders are processed within one business day. Most in-stock orders placed before 2PM AEST on a business day are shipped the same day.

All orders ship from our warehouse at 17/110 Bourke Road, Alexandria NSW 2015.

If you have a preferred carrier, note it with your order and we will accommodate it where we can.

You will receive an email confirmation once your order is dispatched, including tracking. If there is any delay in processing your order, we will notify you by email.

We cannot guarantee delivery timeframes. Once dispatched, transit time is in the hands of the carrier. Regional, remote and interstate destinations — including regional WA, NT, far north QLD and TAS — should allow additional business days.

Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding NSW public holidays.

Bulky, oversized & high-value items

Some products cannot be shipped on standard courier rates. These include, without limitation:

• Equipment racks, rack-mounted amplifiers and matrix switchers
• Projectors and projection screens
• Motorised blinds, shading systems and made-to-measure product
• Architectural and outdoor speakers shipped in volume
• Displays, mounts, and any item exceeding standard courier dimensions or weight

For these items we will contact you after your order is placed to arrange insured, signature-required freight and confirm the cost before dispatch. Free shipping does not apply to bulky, oversized or freight-quoted items.

Where freight is quoted separately, the timeframes in Section 01 do not apply. We will confirm the timeframe with the quote.

Pickup from Alexandria

In-stock orders may be collected from our Alexandria warehouse by prior arrangement. Please wait for confirmation that your order is ready before attending.

Project & installation deliveries

Where goods form part of a Home Automation Store design, supply or installation project, delivery is scheduled against your project program by your project contact. This policy governs online retail orders. It does not govern staged project deliveries, site drops or installer-held stock.

Returns policy

Items may be returned within 30 days of purchase, in their original condition, for store credit.

To be eligible for return:

• The item must be unused and in the same condition in which you received it
• It must be in its original packaging with all accessories included
• You must provide a receipt or proof of purchase

A restocking fee may apply.

This policy does not apply to any custom orders, including but not limited to TRIAD speakers, made-to-measure blinds and shading, custom-cut cable, pre-programmed controllers, and any item ordered in specifically to fulfil your order. Custom orders cannot be returned for change of mind.

Opened software, licences and subscription activations are non-returnable once issued.

Items that are not in original condition, are damaged, or are missing parts for reasons not due to our error are not eligible for return.

All returns must be requested by contacting us first.

Faulty items

We will replace or repair items that are defective, or damaged in transit to you.

If your order arrives damaged, do not use the product. Photograph the packaging and the item as received, and contact us within 7 days of delivery.

Before returning a product as faulty, please contact us or work through the relevant troubleshooting steps. A large proportion of returns in this category are network or configuration issues rather than product faults.

Return authorisation

Do not ship a product back to us before obtaining a Return Authorisation.

1. Contact us to request an RA number
2. Complete and print the RA form, and include it in the package
3. Ensure the RA number is clearly labelled on the outside of the package

Product returned without a clearly labelled RA number may be disposed of.

A minimum service charge of $88 applies to items returned where no fault is found. This charge includes return freight.

Return shipping costs

You are responsible for the cost of returning your item. Original shipping costs are non-refundable. Where a credit or refund is issued, the cost of return shipping will be deducted.

For higher-value items we recommend a trackable, insured freight service. We cannot be responsible for items lost in transit back to us.

Order cancellation

Orders that have not yet shipped may be cancelled for a full refund, provided the request is made promptly. Contact us as soon as possible.

Orders for custom or special-order items may not be cancellable once the order has been placed with the manufacturer. We will tell you at the time whether cancellation is still possible.

Warranty

Products sold by The Home Automation Store carry the warranty offered by their manufacturer or Australian distributor — including Control4, TRIAD, SONOS, 2N and XOTEC. Warranty periods and conditions vary by brand and product, and the terms supplied with your product apply.

As the supplying dealer, we lodge and manage your warranty claim with the manufacturer on your behalf. Contact us with your proof of purchase, the product serial number and a description of the fault to begin a claim.

Warranty does not cover physical damage, damage caused by incorrect installation or power events, normal wear and tear, or product modified or serviced by a third party.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These rights apply in addition to, and are not limited by, the change-of-mind, store credit, restocking and warranty terms above.
